The anatomy of a store that sells

A store is eight connected parts. Most lost sales come from the joins between them, which is why one person looking after all of them helps. Each part links to the page that covers it.

When I would not build you a store

Saying no early saves both of us money.

  • 01You sell fewer than ten products and mostly by appointment. A good website with a booking form will earn more for less.
  • 02Your products already sell well on a marketplace and you have no budget to bring traffic to your own store yet.
  • 03You need a marketplace with many sellers or a complex ERP rebuild. That is a team job; I will say so and point you to one.

Questions about online stores

Which ecommerce platform should I choose?

It depends on catalogue size, budget and who runs the store day to day. Shopify suits owners who want little maintenance, WooCommerce suits those who want full ownership and flexibility, Magento suits large catalogues and B2B, and OpenCart suits lean stores with low running costs. The finder above shows the reasoning.

Can you take over my existing store?

Yes. I start with a short audit of the platform, theme, apps or extensions, speed and tracking, then tell you what to keep, fix or replace. Most takeovers begin with fixes that pay back quickly, such as checkout friction, broken tracking or slow pages, before any redesign.

Do you also run the ads?

Yes. The person who builds the store can also set up Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok catalogue ads and Microsoft Advertising on top of clean product feeds and tracking. You own every account, pay the platforms directly and get one plain-language report covering store and ads.
