The topic map: five lines, one store in the middle

Every guide is a station on one of five lines. Pick a line to see its stops in the order I would read them; each stop links to the page that covers it.

How these guides are written

Guides that try to sell you something are easy to spot. These are the rules I hold mine to, so you can judge them for yourself.

  • Facts only where certain

Platform prices, fees and limits change often. Where a number matters, the guide tells you to check current pricing on the platform's own site instead of quoting a figure that may be out of date.

  • Opinions labelled as opinions

Ratings in comparisons are editorial judgements from building on these platforms, and every one is labelled that way, with the scoring rule shown next to the result.

  • Your numbers stay with you

Calculators and checkers run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to me or saved, and there is no sign-up or email gate in front of any tool.

  • No paid placements owner to confirm

No platform or app pays to appear or rank in these guides, and links to them are ordinary links, not affiliate links.

Questions about the guides

Are the tools free?

Yes. Every calculator, checker and checklist here is free to use, with no sign-up and no email required. They run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to me. The only optional step is having the printable SEO checklist emailed to you, and that is entirely your choice.

How often do you publish?

When there is something worth saying, not on a fixed schedule. Most new guides start as a question clients ask more than once, and existing guides are rechecked when a platform changes its rules, limits or pricing model. Client work comes first, so quiet months are normal and honest.

Can I request a guide?

Yes. Use the short form below or email me the question you are stuck on. If other store owners are likely to have the same question, it becomes a guide. If it is specific to your store, you get a direct answer by email instead, usually within one working day.
