Move your store to a new platform without losing traffic

Products, customers, orders, URLs and reviews move across with a redirect map and SEO checks before and after launch, so rankings hold. Between Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and others. From €2,400.

What moves, what needs care, what stays behind

Every platform stores data its own way. Knowing which parts travel cleanly is most of the planning, and it decides the price.

Moves cleanly

  • Products and imagesTitles, descriptions, SKUs, prices, stock, alt text and image files.
  • Categories and collectionsRebuilt with the same names and, where the platform allows, the same URLs.
  • Customers and order historyNames, addresses, order records and totals, so repeat buyers see their past orders.
  • Content pagesShipping, returns, about and blog posts with their titles and meta descriptions.

Needs care

  • URLsEvery platform has its own patterns, so every old address needs a 301 redirect.
  • Variants and optionsPlatforms limit options per product differently; some products need restructuring.
  • ReviewsExported from the old review tool and imported with dates and ratings, never rewritten.
  • Discount codes and gift cardsRecreated by hand or by script, with balances checked.

Stays behind

  • Customer passwordsEncrypted differently on each platform; customers get an email to set a new one.
  • Saved payment cardsHeld by your payment provider, not the store. Moving them needs the provider's help.
  • Extension and app dataWishlists, loyalty points and similar data move only if the tool can export them.
  • The old themeTemplates do not transfer between platforms; the design is rebuilt or replaced.

Send both store addresses. You get a written migration plan and a fixed price within one working day.

The redirect map, worked through

The single document that keeps rankings. Every old URL that has ever earned traffic or links gets one row and one 301 to its closest new page. Never a chain, never a blanket redirect to the home page.

example store and URLs
Example redirect map, OpenCart to Shopify
Old URLNew URLStatusWhy
/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=42/products/wool-socks-2-pairs301Old parameter URL still has links from forums.
/wool-socks-2-pairs/products/wool-socks-2-pairs301SEO URL keeps the same slug.
/socks/collections/socks301Category becomes a collection.
/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=6/policies/shipping-policy301Shipping page moves to a policy page.
/discontinued-red-mittens/collections/mittens301 to parentGone product goes to its closest category, not home.
/index.php?route=product/search&search=socks(none)not mappedInternal search results are never redirected or indexed.

OpenCart to Shopify: 4 one-to-one redirects, 1 to a parent category, and the rest left out on purpose. A real map runs to hundreds or thousands of rows, built from the crawl.

When I would not migrate your store

A move costs time and carries risk. Sometimes the better answer is to fix what you have.

  • 01The real problem is speed or a heavy theme. That can usually be fixed in place, for example with WooCommerce tuning.
  • 02Your busiest season is less than six weeks away. We plan now and launch after the peak.
  • 03You are moving for one feature that an extension or app on your current platform already offers.
  • 04Product data is inconsistent. We clean it first; moving messy data only moves the mess.

Questions about migrations

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the move is planned. Rankings dip when old URLs break, titles change or content disappears. A full redirect map, matching titles and content, and checks before and after launch keep the signals Google has learned. Expect some movement for a few weeks while Google recrawls; lasting drops usually point to missed redirects.

How long does a migration take?

Three to six weeks for most small and mid-sized stores: about a week to audit and map, one to three weeks to move data and rebuild templates, then a launch week with checks. Large catalogues, custom features or several languages take longer. After launch I watch Search Console for four more weeks.

Can orders and customers be moved too?

Yes. Customer accounts, addresses and order history move with the products, so repeat buyers find their past orders. Passwords are encrypted in platform-specific ways and usually cannot be carried over, so customers get a friendly email to set a new one. Saved payment cards stay with your payment provider.
